the A.M.Y. Project

HELLOGOODMORNING! as pdiddy says on his tweets that I receive, well every minute...it's been a little over a month since i last posted...I am greatful for all the connections with amazing people young and old that re-affirms this world has alot of beautiful people in it! I recently finished a mentoring year with the A.M.Y. Project (Artists Mentoring Youth) which is a collective of young woman from different backgrounds fusing their talents together, learning life skills and socialization under the leadership of Claire Calnan and Weyni Mengesha. The young woman are paired with an artist mentor within the community which provides creative guidance on their individual stories expressed through different mediums such as spoken word, song and dance and then weaved into a collective piece with the other woman...what an inspiration! I wish I had this as a teen...This year is their 5th year anniversary and they have released a mixtape of which i had the pleasure of droppin some dimes on it and accompanying other alumni artists on it as well...It is a great piece of work and looking forward to future productions of the AMY project movement. stay tuned from photos and music samples from the mixtape...any questions about the project contact: whoisamynow@yahoo.com
